What stays on your device — everything you save

Every highlight, summary, conversation link and title you save with JumpBack is stored in your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) only. There is no account and no content server. We could not read your highlights if we wanted to.

What we count — anonymous feature usage

To catch breakage early (for example, when a chat site changes and jump-back stops working), the extension sends anonymous daily counts of feature events:

a random anonymous ID (not linked to you, your account, or your content; resets if you reinstall)
daily counts of: install, save succeeded, jump-back succeeded / failed (with a failure category), summary generated, and a once-a-day "was used today" ping with the rough size bucket of your notebook (e.g. "10–49") — never exact contents

Never collected: your highlight text, summaries, conversation URLs or titles, page contents, emails, accounts, cookies, IP addresses (not stored server-side), or precise timestamps of your actions.

Opt out anytime — the "Anonymous usage stats" toggle in the extension popup stops all collection immediately and deletes anything queued.

The website (jumpback.ink)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless, no individual visitor tracking. If you join the sync beta waitlist, we store the email you submit for that single purpose.

Business transfers

If JumpBack is ever acquired or transferred, this policy travels with the data: local highlights stay local, and anonymous statistics remain anonymous.
